I am a postgraduate student at Birkbeck College. I am conducting a study to investigate the extent to which hiring decisions are affected by decision-making styles. I would very much appreciate it if you could spend no more than 10 minutes to complete a simulation of the pre-screening phase of the recruitment process and a short questionnaire on decision-making.

In the next few pages you will be asked a few demographic questions about gender, age, employment sector and recruitment experience but no further personal information will be required.

Instructions

• You will then be presented with a job description for a graduate role and will be shown two candidate profiles with information similar to what you would expect to see on popular networking websites.
  
  
• You will then be asked about the candidates’ suitability for the role; candidates should not be compared with each other, only their individual suitability for the role should be considered.
  
  
• You will not have the opportunity to review the profiles or the job description once you click through to the next page, so please take the time to read the information supplied.

Participation is voluntary and all participants have the right to withdraw from the survey at any time whilst completing the survey.
